Auto Z Mode Button

This button on the Feature Edit tab allow the user to easily see at a glance and toggle the current Auto Z mode (Surface, Constant, or Off). Auto Z settings are set by the user on the Auto Z tab of the Feature Edit Options dialog.

1. The Off mode / simply means that Auto Z mode is turned off. The button will change to blue when engaged.

Note: Having Auto Z turned off means that any newly added vertices will have their Z values interpolated from their neighbors.

2. The Surface mode / uses the currently selected conflation task (Create Feature or Edit Feature) set in Feature Edit Options to assign Z values to vertices when they are moved or edited. The user also selects a conflation method (such as Summarize Z) to perform on the feature(s).

3. The Constant mode / assigns the same Z value (Constant Z value) to any vertices that are edited or moved. This is set via the Auto Z tab on the Feature Edit Options dialog.

Tip: The user can utilize a shortcut to the Auto Z tab of the Feature Edit Options dialog by executing a Ctrl-click on the Auto Z Mode button.
