About Dissolving Overlapping Polygons
If the dissolve overlapping polygons setting is selected, the growth of the moving window is limited to the maximum patch area size. Limiting the grow window produces overlapping polygons that must be dissolved as the final step in the extraction. This setting is useful for tracing boundaries around vegetation areas or in general when tracing boundaries around points where squaring is not used.
