Modifying the Contour Interval

About the Contour Interval

By default or when not using this setting, the contour interval is system calculated based on the contents of the current view. The system calculated interval is designed to allow for fast browsing of the LIDAR data as the view is zoomed in and out. You may override the system interval by specifying a specific vertical distance in map units to use as a contour interval.

How to Modify the Contour Interval

1. Open the Contour Property Page by selecting the Properties button on the LP360 toolbar, then click the Symbology tab, the Contours tab, and the General tab. This is the order of the nested tabs.

2. Click the "User Specified Interval" checkbox to specify a specific contour interval to use. If left unchecked, a system calculated interval is used.

3. If using a "User Specified Interval", input a contour interval in map units in the interval textbox.
