Stored Filters Dialog
Stored Filters are predefined display filters
that are persisted between LP360 sessions. Stored filters allow you to
quickly change from one filter to another without opening any properties
for that particular view. The Stored
Filters dialog is used to manage those persisted filters.
Default Filters
Three filters are provided by default: All Points, Ground, and Canopy.
The "All Points" filter is exactly what it says, it does not
filter any points. Any data set should work with the All Points filter.
The "Ground" filter displays only the points that are on classifications
2 and 8. The Ground filter may not operate properly on all data sets as
ground points may not have been preprocessed to the 2 and 8 classification
values. The "Canopy" filter displays only the points that are
on classifications of 3, 4, and/or 5. Similar to the Ground filter, the
Canopy filter may not work properly if points have not been preprocessed
to the 3, 4, and/or 5 classification values.
Modifying Default Filters
If the default filters are not satisfactory and require modification, the
Stored Filters dialog allows you
to Add, Edit or Remove Filters from the list. This is very useful when
your data set has differing definitions of Ground or you want to create
more complicated filters that utilize classification values not used in
the default filters or use return combinations and/or elevations in the
stored filters.
Storage of the Filters
The stored filters are persisted in an XML
file named filters.xml located in the
"\Documents and Settings\'username'\Application
Data\LP360" folder on the machine's system drive. You can copy this
file to other machines as a way to copy stored filters from machine to
machine. You can reset or reconstruct the default filters at any time
by deleting the filters.xml file and
restarting LP360.
