About the Smoothing Option

If smooth transitions between colors are desired, use the Smoothing option. If the smoothing option is not used, the colors change abruptly. The preview window gives an example of the effect of the smoothing option.

How to Use the Smoothing Option

Smoothing Option Button

1. Open the Properties dialog.

2. Select the 'Symbology' tab and the 'Elevation' tab within it.

3. Click the "Smoothing" option button. The colors will be interpolated if checked, otherwise the colors will change abruptly.
