Toggling Hillshading

Hillshading of the TIN surface can be toggled on or off to produce the visual effect you wish to achieve. You typically will always use hillshading as it adds realistic visual results to the terrain surface. However, the position of the light source may create shadows that block the visibility of the terrain in some areas. Toggling the hillshading off or changing the sun position is an effective way to deal with shadow areas when performing QA/QC of the LIDAR data.
