How do I move my Terrasolid License Server to a new machine?

Answer:

  1. Download Terrasolid License Server software on the new hardware:
    1. Download the latest version of the Terra License Server/Manager software from Terrasolid’s website: License Server & Manager – Terrasolid
      1. Language: English
      2. Platform Selection: 64-bit Windows Only
      3. Version Selection: Select the most recent version, i.e. 021.001.
      4. Add to Cart
      5. Follow the link to Proceed to Download.
      6. Fill out the contact form, being certain to double check the e-mail address. Submit by pressing Download.
      7. You will then receive the download link via e-mail, and also be taken to the download page.
      8. On the download page, right-click on download package, i.e., “license_win64_eng_021_001.zip” and select Save Link As to download the installation package as a compressed ZIP file.
  2. Install the software on the new hardware
    1. For additional installation information please see the document entitled: Installing Terrasolid Products Guide
      1. Extract the downloaded compressed ZIP file to the machine on which you wish to install the new Terra License Server/Service.
      2. Ensure to right-click on setup.exe and select Run as Administrator
  3. Register the licenses on the new hardware:
    1. Launch Terra License Server.
    2. Select File->Server Information.
    3. Click “Open Web”
    4. Enter the appropriate information to complete your registration.
      1. For Reason of Registration choose the option: Move Licenses to another server
      2. For Licenses to Register choose the option: Register all our licenses to this server OR Register only licenses entered below to this server AND list the applicable serial numbers, invoice number, or old server/computer name

  4. The licenses will be sent directly from Terrasolid Licensing, licensing@terrasolid.com. Please make sure to ensure you can receive e-mails with ZIP file attachments.
    1. If you do not receive licenses within 48-72 hours of registering please contact support@geocue.com so that we may assist.
  5. Authorize the new machine with the new licenses
  6. Point the client machines to the new license server
  7. Uninstall and remove the Terrasolid License Server and licenses from the old hardware.
