User Defined Point File Formats

Within TerraScan there is an option to import a user defined point file format. To accomplish this one must first go to TerraScan Settings -> File Formats -> User Point Formats and create a new format. To create a new format select Add.  In the file format dialog the user can then specify the fields used directly or they can load an example via File -> Load Example. By choosing the option to Load Example the program automatically determine the correct number of fields and the delimiter type. The user then only needs to specify the fields and if they want the file type to be available as an input/output format or both.

Once the User Point File Format has been defined the user can then specify that option when loading data into the program, or when exporting data from the program depending upon how the file format was defined.
