Sometimes customers will receive LIDAR data that has the X and Y positions in the wrong order in the data file. Because of this, the data will appear inverted and out of position once it is read into TerraScan. There is an easy way to correct this using a transformation in TerraScan Settings.
In older, 32-bit versions of the software, there is a simple option to use the ‘Equation’ type transformation that could be used to swap the values for the X and Y positions (among any other things), however, this feature was discontinued in the 64-bit CONNECT software. In the 64-bit versions of TerraScan, simply use the ‘XY multiply’ type transformation using the settings below:
