About Using Selected Features

The spatial relationship defines the set of points that are used to calculate z values such as a mean, minimum, or maximum. The following relationships are available:

• Within a Distance Of - all LAS points within a specified distance (i.e., buffer) to the input geometry satisfy the relationship. Points within polygonal geometry are considered to be zero distance.

• Completely Within - all LAS points within a polygonal geometry satisfy the relationship. Polygon features only.

How to Select a Spatial Relationship

1. Within the Summarize Z Values dialog, click the down arrow on the "Spatial Relationship" box.
   
   
2. Select a spatial relationship from the list.
   
   

Tip The specific list of spatial relationships are affected by the type of input geometry. The "Within a Distance Of" relationship is listed for all geometry types. However, the "Completely Within" relationship is only listed for polygonal geometry types.
