Symptom:
While running the Point Cloud Statistics Extractor Point Cloud Task it returns “Error 6: EPSG PCS/GCS code 37518 not found in EPSG Support Files. Is this a valid EPSG coordinate system?“. The error message indicates that one or more input LAS files has been assigned an EPSG code that is not a valid code.
Probable Resolution:
- Use LDDump or the Add Files dialog in LP360 to review the coordinate system information associated with your input LAS data.
- Verify that the code, for example, 37518 is a valid EPSG code.
- Spatialreference.org is a good reference and is easy to use and access
- EPSG is the definitive organization, but a bit harder to review the information.
- If desired, fix the assigned code to an appropriate EPSG code by using the LAS File Analyst in v2018.1 and later, or the Export Wizard.
- If the code is valid, update the EPSG support files by following the instructions here.
