Setting precision in LAS files output by GeoCue

The LAS tab on the LIDAR 1 CuePac Options dialog, allows you to control the precision in LAS files output by GeoCue (such as occurs when populating or merging working segments, or importing elevation files). The LAS tab can be accessed from within the GeoCue Client by going to Setup –> Options –> LIDAR 1 CuePac.

The LAS tab displays the timestamp format being used in this project, which was set when the project was created. It will be one of: GPS-Week-Seconds or Standard GPS Time.

The LAS tab also allows you to control the precision in LAS files output by GeoCue. Coordinate data are stored in LAS files as scaled 32-bit integers. Scale factors in the LAS file header are used to unscale the integer coordinates back to real world coordinates. By default, the scale factor is 0.01 for linear units or 1e-7 (roughly centimeter precision) for angular units. You can optionally specify high precision, which is thousandths (0.001) for linear units or 1e-8 (roughly millimeter precision) for angular units. The horizontal and vertical precisions can be set. The LAS file precision settings are persisted on a per GeoCue project basis. If you want ALL GeoCue projects to use the selected settings, you may press the Set As Defaults button.
