1. Introduction
LP360 Cloud is a new product available in 2023, with support in LP360 starting in the v2023.1 release. In this article, we will describe the product functionalities and how one might use it with your workflows.
2. License
LP360 now has two LP360 Cloud Addon products that are subscription licenses:
- Storing and sharing data → requires an LP360 Cloud Access license.
- Power Search and streaming → requires an LP360 Cloud Starter license.
License requirements:
- Registration in the LP360 Portal. This will automatically create an account for your organization, if one doesn’t already exist, that will allow the user to work with his personal user credentials (email and password).
- TrueView hardware users: with the purchase of any of the TrueView sensors, a company account is created. Use these credentials to access LP360 Cloud.
- LP360 Drone users: During the purchase of your license, your credentials are created. Use these credentials to access LP360 Cloud.
- LP360 Geospatial users: Register your organization in the LP360 Portal, if one doesn’t already exist, and purchase the desired LP360 Cloud subscription licenses.
- LP360 Cloud Access license: This is required to access LP360 Cloud. The main feature of this license is the ability for storing and sharing data.
- LP360 Cloud Starter license: The user’s organization must own an LP360 Cloud Access license to be able to use this license. The Starter license adds the Power Search and data streaming capabilities.
- The LP360 Portal admin for a company may grant access to the cloud capabilities to user(s) by using the Admin -> Organization tab in the LP360 Portal to assign/remove an organization’s license(s) to desired users.
3. Accessing LP360 Cloud in a web browser
To access through a web browser, navigate to: https://cloud.lp360.com/
A user must be assigned an LP360 Cloud Access license from the LP360 Portal to access LP360 Cloud in a browser.
3.1. Dashboard
The dashboard shows all recent activity inside LP360 Cloud. From here the user can access the available modules.
3.2. Folders
The folder section provides access to the data stored inside LP360 Cloud, either raw (archived Cycle) or processed (published) data.
This section is divided in 2 parts:
- Cycle – Archive: Includes all the raw archived Cycle data stored in LP360 Cloud for efficient long term storage.
- Folders: Different folders created by the users to store processed data, such as LAS files. …more data types to be added soon!
The actions available are:
- Copy link: Copy the web path to access the specific folder for downloading the data.
- Rename: Rename the folder.
- Delete: Delete the folder.
3.2.1. Cycle – Archive
This section contains only the raw archived Cycle data from TrueView and microdrones sensors. It is always displayed as the first folder inside the “Folders” section. This is a great way to efficiently store and share your raw field collected data.
Select the “Cycle – Archive” folder to access the folder.
Once you access the “Cycle – Archive” folder, it displays all the archived Cycles stored in the cloud. Note that a cycle contains raw data collected during a flight by a TrueView or microdrones sensor.
All the data displayed in this section can be accesed by any user of an organization. This allows multiple users within the same organization to access the data.
How to upload an archived Cycle:
In LP360 Desktop → TrueView Archive Manager → Copy a cycle from the local archive to your LP360 Cloud “Cycle-Archive” folder. Find step by step instructions in Archiving TrueView Cycles to LP360 Cloud.
The actions available are:
- Rename: Rename a cycle.
- Share: Creates a link to download the data selected.
- Organization: Creates a link that can only be accessed by the users of the organization with LP360 Cloud login credentials.
- Everyone: Creates a link that can be accessed by anyone with the link.
- By email: Send an email with the link to access the data. Note: Create the list of e-mail recipients by pressing enter after typing in each email address.
3.2.2. Individual folders
This section contains all the individual folders available except “Cycle – Archive”. To access press any folder after “Cycle – Archive”. Note: LP360 v2023.2 has a limit of nine folders that is fixed in v2023.3.
Example, press “John_Data” folder.
Once you open a folder, it displays all the processed data stored inside the folder. Note that the folder section can contain data from any source, either from a TrueView sensor or from any other LiDAR sensor.
All the data displayed in this section can be accessed by any user of an organization. This allows multiple users within the same organization to access the data.
How to upload a published file:
In LP360 Desktop, use the LP360 Cloud Uploader on the LP360 Cloud toolbar/ribbon tab to publish data to LP360 Cloud.
The actions available are:
- Rename: Rename a cycle.
- Move file: Move a file between different folders.
- Share: Creates a link to download the selected data.
- Stream: Display the data selected. A user must be assigned an LP360 Starter license from the LP360 Portal to create streaming links in LP360 Cloud.
- Stream: Displays the data in your web browser.
- Get Stream Link: Creates a link that can be opened in any licensed LP360 without needing to download the data. In LP360 Desktop -> Add Files -> Cloud LAS tab, enter the pre-signed S3 URL to create a Cloud LAS Layer.
3.3 LP360 Cloud Power Search
Power Search is a tool that allows the users to spatially search the organized data stored in LP360 Cloud, plus filter based on metadata information. A user must be assigned an LP360 Starter license from the LP360 Portal to use the Power Search.
