Symptom:
Receive a message trying to get a license for LP360 stating, “Unable to authenticate a license for LP360 for the following reason: The Client GUID authentication failed; Mismatch of Client and License Server version numbers OR Maintenance has expired and please consider renewing the maintenance. LP360 will run in Viewer mode until the License Server can be contacted (You may be asked to register for the Viewer if this is the first time you have run the Viewer mode)”
The error message may show as only “Client GUID authentication failed; Mismatch of Client and License Server version numbers OR Maintenance has expired and please consider renewing the maintenance” when viewed in the ArcGIS extensions dialogue while attempting to checkout an LP360 for ArcGIS license by enabling the extension.
Probable Resolution #1:
The error message typically indicates that a valid license cannot be issued by the license server to the requesting client. This can happen if the requested license level does not have current maintenance. The quick check for this is to look at the License Server Info tab of the LP360 License Administrator and review the “maintenance” column of the desired license level. If the “maintenance” column is negative or says “expired” then either the maintenance has expired or the latest authorization file has not been authorized on the LP360 License Server. The easiest way to verify is to run Check for Updates (In LP360, from the Help menu -> Check for Updates OR in LP360 for ArcGIS, from the LP360 toolbar -> LP360 -> Check for LP360 Updates) from within the product, or enter your CDKey into http://lp360.com/chkstatus.asp, and review what your software updates page states for you “Maintenance Good Through” date. If the maintenance is valid on the software update page:
- Download the latest authorization file using the “Download new authorization file now…” link near the top of the software updates page
- Run LP360 License Administrator using the right-click and “Run as Administrator” mode
- On the Activate tab,
- Select “I have an authorization file and I would like to complete the activation.”
- Browse for the AUT file downloaded from the Software Updates page.
- Review the “maintenance” column on the License Server Info tab.
If your maintenance has expired please contact [email protected] to renew and gain access to the latest version of the software.
Probable Resolution #2:
The authorization file accessible from the Software Updates page is out of date and needs to be updated on our system before you can follow the steps in Probable Resolution #1. Please contact [email protected].
Probable Resolution #3:
There are no available licenses for the desired license level specified for the client in the LP360 License Administrator or requested by the user from the License menu. Review the available licenses in the License Server Info tab of the LP360 License Administrator to find a license to make available or switch to another available license level.
