Could not probe surface

Problem:

User encounters the message, “Could not probe surface. Verify coverage and that surface is not in use.” in the system messages column of the Checklist Step Details pane when attempting to run the Probe checklist step on a Photogrammetric_Point entity in GeoCue.

Probable Resolution#1:

Verify the layer being probed is not currently locked in GeoCue.

Probable Resolution#2:

Verify the LAS files on the layer being probed are not currently locked by another program. Can they be launched into Direct Drive without issue?

Probable Resolution#3:

Verify the path to the LAS files as shown in the Properties pane Files tab are valid and the Exists column says “Yes”. Can the working segment entities be launched into Direct Drive without issue?

Probable Resolution#4:

Verify that the GeoCue Server service user (services -> GeoCue Server service -> Properties -> Log on) has permissions to access the LAS files of the working segments for the layer to be probed.

Probable Resolution#5:

Verify that the GeoCue Dispatch service user (services -> GeoCue Dispatch service -> Properties -> Log on) has permissions to access the LAS files of the working segments for the layer to be probed.
