How to Mount TrueView Sensors to an IF800

This guide provides step-by-step instructions to securely mount TrueView sensors to the Inspired Flight IF800 drone, including payload, damping, and antenna installation. Follow these steps to ensure optimal performance and safety.

1. IF800 Configuration

• Adjust the Mount Position:
  Set the IF800 payload mount to Position 4 (50 mm) as shown in the official configuration diagram. This ensures compatibility with TrueView payloads.

2. Damping Block Installation

• Install the Damping Block:
  Attach the damping block to the IF800 using the provided hardware.
  • Use the illustrated diagrams for correct orientation and placement.
  • If flying a payload other than TrueView, loosen the clamp and store it on the IF800.

3. Damping PLI Installation

• Mount the Payload Adapter:
  1. Align the dovetail receiver and payload adapter.
  2. Insert the adapter into the receiver until it clicks.
  3. Push the red locking latch on the side of the dovetail receiver toward the back of the aircraft until it stops.

4. Damper Lock Quick-Install

• Required Hardware:
  • M3 x 11mm aluminum spacers (4)
  • M3 x 20mm socket head screws (4)
• Installation Steps:
  Use the provided spacers and screws to secure the damper lock as shown in the quick-install diagrams.

5. Antenna Installation

A. Inspired Flight GNSS Mount

• Steps:
  1. Install the GNSS antenna on top of the drone (see Inspired Flight’s website for details).
  2. Screw the payload’s antenna to the SMA connector on the GNSS mount.
  3. Plug the MCX connector on the side of the drone.
• Compatible TrueView Payloads:
  • TrueView 540
  • TrueView 515 / 535 / 545
  • TrueView 625 / 655 / 660
  • TrueView 680

B. TrueView Center Antenna Mount

• Steps:
  1. Screw the payload’s antenna onto the SMA connector.
  2. Install the center mount onto the drone using M3 x 8mm button head screws (4).
• Compatible TrueView Payloads:
  • Same as above

C. GNSS Mast & Center Antenna Mast

• Steps:
  1. Slide the tabs on the GNSS mast base into the slots on top of the drone.
  2. Lock the base into place.
  3. Screw the antenna and connect the MCX connector.
  4. For the center antenna mast, screw the mast onto the base and secure with M3 x 10mm flat head screws (2) and M3 locknuts (2).
  5. Install the mast onto the drone and connect the antenna as above.
