For TVGO indoor scans (using SLAM), performing loop closures is recommended for optimizing the point cloud. This overlap help minimize “drift” in the resulting point cloud. Since the same area is covered multiple times it will be recognized and keep the scan aligned properly.
When a loop is preformed, ensure that at least 20% of the loop is covered twice (see example below)
Note: Loop Closures are not necessary when capturing outdoors with a GNSS connection.
