Smooth Corner Vertex Spacing

The smooth corners contour option in LP360 is basically a choice between drawing contours as line strings or drawing them as curves. The Smooth Corner Vertex Spacing parameter is the number of vertices to be added between the existing vertices that are found where the contour crosses the triangle edge. Those vertices on the triangle edges never change. Hence, all you can control is the smoothness of a contour within a single triangle. Therefore, if you want to smooth your contours you would need to smooth the data, or thin the dataset so that you have larger triangles.

The default value is 2 screen pixels for visualization. The best value to use for exporting contours will depend upon the size of your nominal triangles, which will be greatly influenced by the nominal point spacing of the source data. We recommend you use 3 to 7 vertices to get curve looking contours.

Note: This feature has been deprecated in LP360 v2016.2.3.0 and later in favor of a new smooth contour option.
