“invalid value for an argument” error occurred creating the PostProcessTraj.txt file

Problem:

User encounters “An error occurred creating the PostProcessTraj.txt file from the SBET. CRS Handler error: [Geown][CRS] LibProj: ‘Invalid value for an argument'” or “An error occurred creating the PostProcessTraj.txt file from the SBET. Error preparing transformer: [Geown][CRS] LibProj: ‘Invalid value for an argument'” when trying to Create TrueView Trajectories after successfully processing the sensor trajectory.

An "invalid value for an argument" error occurred creating the PostProcessTraj.txt file
“invalid value for an argument” error occurred creating the PostProcessTraj.txt file.

Probable Resolution #1:

The CRS Handler introduced in the LP360 v2022.1.60.0 release for some functions, such as Create TrueView Trajectories, does not currently work with coordinate reference systems (CRS) with an ESRI or other non-EPSG authority code. To work around the issue until support for is added for non-EPSG based CRS, create and process your TrueView project in a CRS with an EPSG authority code, then use the “Reproject LAS” and “Reproject Raster” Point Cloud Tasks (PCTs) to get your data into the desired CRS.

For instance, if you have been using “NAD_1983_StatePlane_Alabama_East_FIPS_0101_Feet” because there used to not be a “NAD83(2011) / Alabama East (ftUS)” then you will find that Alabama has now submitted and been approved an authority code by EPSG and we have added it to LP360 for the v2022.1.60.0 release. For other states that only have metric definitions of their zones with EPSG codes, then process in metres and use the “Reproject LAS” and “Reproject Raster” Point Cloud Tasks (PCTs) to reproject your data from metres to USFT.
