Convert TPS to RINEX

To properly convert Topcon base observation files to RINEX format, a custom profile will need to be used to contain necessary information in the header of the file. To convert your TPS files to RINEX, you will first need to have a few files downloaded.  

-TPS2RIN.exe download: https://www.topconpositioning.com/support/products/tps2rin-converter 

-Please download the ConvertTPS2RIN.bat.txt file and the TPS2RINProfile.txt from this article. 

-Create a file and place it in a location of your choice, for this example we will create the folder in our documents and name it TPS2RIN. We will create an Exe folder and extract the tps2rin.exe.zip file in here. 

-Then place the ConvertTPS2RIN.bat.txt and TPS2RINProfile.txt files into the TPS2RIN folder for this example. The Profile.txt and your .tps file(s) can reside in any folder the user desires. 

-Rename the ConvertTPS2RIN.bat.txt to ConvertTPS2RIN.bat.  

-Edit the .bat file and change the <path to exe> to the file path for the tps2rin.exe. Make sure the <> are gone.

-Replace the quotes around the file path with new quotes.

-Ensure there are no abnormal spaces or odd characters. It could cause the .exe to fail.

-Save the .bat file. 

-Open the TPS2RIN.Profile.txt and fill out the information, each base station information will be different. 

-Once you have filled out the Profile.txt you are ready to convert your file. 

-Each Time you need to convert, you will need the .tps file in the same location as the Profile.txt and then drop the .tps file onto the .bat file. you will get a suitable RINEX with the necessary information in the header. 

-The folder will populate a suitable RINEX with the necessary information in the header.
