TV540 Error – Red Light Indicator: LiDAR Error

When the drone returns from a mission, the TV540 may display a red status light. Upon reviewing the diagnostics, the LiDAR module may be marked with an error.

Cause of the issue, the LiDAR sensor did not receive sufficient power during the flight. As a result:

  • The sensor stopped collecting data mid‑flight.
  • The LiDAR cycle ended prematurely and the partial dataset was stored.

This typically occurs when the drone is operated with low‑charge batteries or aged batteries that can no longer supply adequate power for the full mission.

Probable Resolution #1:

The sensor did not have enough power to run, therephore the cycle is finished and stored. Replace the batteries with fully charged, healthy units and repeat the flight to collect a complete LiDAR dataset.

How to prevent the issue:

  • Always ensure batteries are fully charged before flight.
  • Regularly inspect and cycle batteries to confirm they hold sufficient capacity.
  • Replace batteries that show signs of wear, reduced capacity, or inconsistent voltage output.
